FORGE Course Instructor Level 2

About the role

Amentum is looking for a FORGE Course Instructor in Hanover, MD, to join a multidisciplinary team delivering hands-on, technical training for the Cyber, Security and Intelligence space. Attendance is critical, with a 40-hour week normally Monday to Friday, plus availability for overtime during critical peaks.

Key responsibilities

• Act as subject matter expert and coach, teaching lecture and lab work so students meet certification standards and succeed in mission-critical situations
• Monitor student performance on practical exercises and give feedback
• Use virtualization to simulate real-world cyber scenarios
• Help students prepare for the mission-critical needs of customers
• Work with the team to recommend updates to course content, materials and documentation
• Research, document and test security solutions for emerging technologies, security methodologies and CNE concepts
• Design, develop and run training exercises and scenarios, and keep course maps and schedules current

Required profile

• TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is desired but not required; 3 extra years of experience can substitute for it
• At least 5 years of experience developing, testing, deploying, operating, training or maintaining electrical/electronic/software systems (8 years if no degree)
• Preferred: experience designing networking systems, as a cyber course trainer or course developer, and mentoring junior team members

Required skills

• VMware: creating and configuring virtual hosts and networks, and scenario development with vSphere, vCenter, Moodle, Captivate, Camtasia and Articulate
• Commonly used programming languages, preferably Python, Ruby and shell scripting
• Administration of common Unix, Unix variants and Windows servers
• Trend analysis of student performance and course improvement
