Admission Counselor I

About the role

The Admission Counselor I supports Saint Louis University's enrollment goals by guiding prospective students and their families through the admissions process. This role involves recruiting, reviewing applications, planning events, and providing counseling on academic programs, financial aid, and campus life.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain communication with high school, college, or adult learners, parents, and counselors.
• Counsel applicants on admission requirements, financial aid, career planning, and housing options, including FAFSA guidance.
• Identify, recruit, and enroll prospective students within a designated market, developing recruitment strategies and managing travel logistics.
• Review academic credentials, make admission decisions, and assist with scholarship allocation.
• Participate in recruitment team activities, special programs, and enrollment strategy implementation.
• Perform administrative tasks such as composing letters, compiling reports, processing applications, and maintaining confidential files.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• Valid driver's license with personal car insurance and ability to travel locally and nationally, including weekends and evenings.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and within a team, and handle confidential information.
