Adjunct Special Education Instructor & Field Experience Supervisor

About the role

Rowan University’s College of Education seeks qualified special education professionals to join as part‑time adjunct faculty. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in special and inclusive education, as well as supervising field experiences for pre‑K‑12 teacher candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver in‑person or online instruction for special education and inclusive education courses.
• Supervise and evaluate student field placements in pre‑K‑12 settings.
• Ensure curriculum aligns with national accreditation standards, such as those of the Council for Exceptional Children.
• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in special education or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid state licensure for special education.
• Minimum three years of successful teaching experience in public or private pre‑K‑12 schools.
• Demonstrated commitment to academic achievement, social justice, and collaborative environments.

Required skills

• Familiarity with special education accreditation standards and teacher accountability requirements.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
