Accounting Operations Manager

About the role

Fringe is seeking an in‑house finance and accounting leader to own the monthly close, financial operations and serve as the go‑to finance partner across the organization. Reporting to the COO, you will work closely with Operations and Product in a fast‑growing HR‑tech startup.

Key responsibilities

• Run the full monthly close, including calendar management, journal entries, reconciliations and sign‑off for subscription and marketplace revenue.
• Own revenue recognition under ASC 606 for a hybrid model and maintain deferred revenue and points liability roll‑forwards.
• Produce internal and external monthly reporting, variance analysis and executive dashboards.
• Manage treasury functions, cash forecasting, bank relationships and outbound payments.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections and payroll in partnership with People Operations and the PEO.
• Serve as the primary finance contact for contract terms, vendor questions, funding schedules, commission plans and budgets.

Required profile

• High agency with a bias for action and comfort being the sole finance person in the room.
• Clear communicator who can explain complex financial concepts to executives, sales teams and auditors.
• Curious about business operations beyond the books and willing to own mistakes and extend grace.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of GAAP, especially ASC 606.
• Hands‑on experience with monthly close procedures and external reporting.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Tabs, Anrok, FloQast, Salesforce, Claude and Google Sheets.
