Accounting Manager – Finance Leadership

About the role

Seasats is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and build the financial infrastructure needed for rapid growth. Reporting to the CFO, you will own month‑end close, audit support, and help scale ERP and finance systems, with a path toward a Controller role.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
• Maintain the general ledger and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash reconciliations, and fixed assets.
• Develop accounting procedures and internal controls appropriate for a rapidly scaling company.
• Support inventory, manufacturing, work‑in‑process, and cost accounting as production expands.
• Assist with government‑contract accounting compliance and audit preparation.
• Participate in ERP implementation, automation initiatives, and data‑quality improvements.

Required profile

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Background in defense, aerospace, or government contracting environments.
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end close and external audit support.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑changing, building‑process environment.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with executives.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems and accounting software.
• Knowledge of GAAP, audit processes, and internal controls.
• Understanding of government contract accounting (FAR, DFARS, DCAA) – preferred.
• Experience with inventory, cost‑accounting, and fixed‑asset management.
