Accounting Clerk / Invoice Processor

About the role

AdNet/AccountNet, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join its finance team in Arlington, VA. The clerk will handle high‑volume invoice processing, ensuring accuracy and timely payments while supporting the organization’s EEO and workforce services.

Key responsibilities

• Review, validate, and process 200‑250 invoices per month according to payment procedures.
• Verify that invoice packages contain required documentation, approvals, and funding information before processing.
• Facilitate approval, rejection, correction, and routing of incoming invoices.
• Resolve routine discrepancies by coordinating with vendors, internal staff, and payment support teams.
• Maintain accurate accounts payable records, tracking logs, reports, spreadsheets, and electronic files.
• Monitor invoice status to support timely payment and meet internal deadlines.
• Manage the invoice intake mailbox, ensuring emails are routed, processed, or responded to within established timeframes.

Required profile

• High school diploma (degree or coursework preferred).
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain required background investigation or public trust.
• Basic understanding of accounting, accounts payable, or invoice processing practices.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to prioritize work in a high‑volume environment.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Oracle financial systems.
• Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Experience using standard business databases or financial tracking systems.
