Academic Urologic Oncology Physician

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and LSU Health Sciences Center at Shreveport are seeking a fellowship‑trained Urologic Oncologist to join their established academic urology practice. The position blends academic resources, resident education, and multidisciplinary cancer care with the efficiency and patient volume of a private‑practice model focused on urologic oncology.

Key responsibilities

• Perform high‑volume open and robotic urologic oncology surgeries, including prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer procedures.
• Maintain dedicated operative block time across multiple facilities and manage a robust surgical patient population.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in GU cancer care, including radiology, pathology, radiation oncology, and medical oncology.
• Teach and supervise urology residents and fellows during operative cases.

Required profile

• Completion of an ACGME‑accredited Urology residency and a Urologic Oncology fellowship (two‑year SUO fellowship preferred).
• Board eligible or board certified in Urology and eligible for a Louisiana medical license.
• Experience with high‑volume oncologic surgery and a commitment to academic medicine.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the da Vinci Xi robotic platform for urologic oncology procedures.
• Expertise in open urologic oncology surgery.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary cancer care environment.
