Academic Nocturnist/Hospitalist Physician

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and LSU Health Sciences Center – Shreveport are seeking an Academic Nocturnist/Hospitalist to join the Department of Medicine. The position supports a growing hospitalist program that provides coverage for all inpatient medicine and surgical teams on a 7‑on/7‑off night schedule. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine and hold an active Louisiana medical license; recent Internal Medicine residents are also encouraged to apply. The health sciences center hosts a School of Medicine, graduate studies, and allied health programs, with over 800 students and nearly 600 residents and fellows training each year. It is home to the only Level I Trauma center in the region, offering a collegial, multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses to develop customized care plans, and physicians have leadership input at all administrative levels.

Required profile

• Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine.
• Eligible for an active Louisiana medical licensure.
