About the role

The Volunteer Coordinator will lead the planning, recruitment, and management of volunteer programs at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. This position supports the mission of delivering high‑quality patient care and community outreach by ensuring a well‑organized volunteer workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies to attract diverse candidates.
• Schedule, assign, and supervise volunteers across clinical and non‑clinical areas.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records, track hours, and generate reports for compliance and accreditation.
• Provide orientation, training, and ongoing support to volunteers.
• Collaborate with department heads to identify volunteer needs and match volunteers to appropriate roles.
• Coordinate volunteer participation in events, community programs, and special projects.
• Ensure all volunteer activities comply with university policies and relevant regulations.

Required profile

• Experience in volunteer coordination or program administration, preferably in a healthcare or academic setting.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain confidentiality.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States.
