Job description
About the role
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine seeks a Translational Postdoctoral Researcher to advance agentic AI for neurodegeneration. The 2‑year fixed‑term position will be based onsite at one of several U.S. locations and involves integrating multi‑modal biomedical data to build and evaluate AI co‑scientist systems.
Key responsibilities
- Characterize and integrate digital pathology, neuroimaging, omics, and longitudinal clinical data into unified analytical frameworks.
- Develop data engineering pipelines that harmonize heterogeneous modalities and establish ground truth for AI evaluation.
- Design and implement evaluation frameworks, benchmarks, and standards for agentic AI systems across neuroscience data.
- Serve as a neurodegeneration domain expert, translating evaluation findings into actionable guidance for AI development.
- Publish methodologies and findings in leading journals and conferences and co‑author manuscripts and strategy documents.
Required profile
- PhD (or MD/PhD) in neuroscience, neurobiology, computational neuroscience, biomedical informatics, or related field, completed within the last 3 years or expected within 6 months.
- Deep knowledge of neurodegenerative disease biology (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, etc.) and experience with at least two data modalities (e.g., PET/MRI, digital pathology, omics, clinical records).
- Proficiency in Python and common machine‑learning/data‑engineering frameworks.
- Familiarity with large‑language‑model architectures and agentic AI orchestration tools (e.g., LangGraph, DSPy).
- Excellent scientific communication skills and ability to work across computational, translational, and experimental teams.
Required skills
- Python programming
- Large language model and agentic AI frameworks (LangGraph, DSPy)
- Neuroimaging analysis (PET, MRI)
- Digital pathology (whole slide imaging)
