Terminal Operator

About the role

The Terminal Operator is responsible for safely moving freight within a busy terminal environment. You will operate a range of heavy equipment to load and unload trucks and rail cars while maintaining strict safety standards. This position supports the efficient flow of goods and contributes to a well‑organized terminal.

Key responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes and skid steers to move inbound and outbound cargo.
• Load and unload trucks and rail cars, ensuring accurate placement and secure handling.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and promptly report any mechanical or safety concerns.
• Follow all safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment and adhere to operational guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized and hazard‑free terminal area.
• Participate in safety meetings, training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast‑paced, outdoor environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
• Ability to work collaboratively with terminal staff and supervisors.

Required skills

• Experience operating loaders.
• Experience operating backhoes.
• Experience operating skid steers.
