Tech Lead, Ramp Travel

About the role

Ramp’s Travel team builds the integrated travel booking and management platform that powers corporate travel for thousands of businesses. As Tech Lead you will own the end‑to‑end delivery of travel‑related services, from search and checkout to policy enforcement and post‑booking support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of ~6 engineers, hiring as the team expands.
• Own delivery across travel management surfaces such as search, quoting, checkout, policy evaluation and loyalty.
• Ensure reliability of systems that depend on third‑party supplier APIs, GDS, and TMC integrations.
• Partner with Product, Design, Ops, Partnerships and Sales on enterprise travel commitments.
• Set team practices for AI‑assisted development and ship LLM‑backed booking features.

Required profile

• 2+ years of engineering management experience for teams of 5‑15 engineers.
• Proven ability to take ambiguous, high‑stakes problems and drive successful execution.
• Hands‑on builder who can lead design reviews and evaluate architecture proposals.
• Experience owning transactional systems with external dependencies (booking, payments, marketplace, logistics).

Required skills

• Strong product judgment and comfort talking to customers.
• Experience building 0→1 products and scaling them.
• Familiarity with corporate travel domain (OBTs, GDS/NDC, travel policy engines) is a plus.
• Experience with AI‑assisted development or LLM‑backed features is a plus.
