Surveyor I – Offshore Survey & Positioning

About the role

The Surveyor I will assist with operating survey and positioning equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining and repairing electronic sensors associated with survey gear. This offshore position is based in the Gulf of Mexico with travel to other remote global locations as required.

Key responsibilities

• Install, calibrate and operate surface and subsea sensors for real‑time vessel and ROV positioning.
• Operate equipment such as video and still cameras, acoustic positioning systems, sonars, subsea tooling and surface positioning systems.
• Develop knowledge of survey data collection and analysis processes.
• Assist with daily survey tasks and maintain parts and supplies inventory.
• Ensure care and safety of company equipment and perform additional duties to support organizational objectives.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0–1 years of experience in the survey industry.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC card, valid passport and any regionally mandated offshore documentation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Preferred: two‑year technical degree or higher; bachelor’s degree; current or obtainable security clearance.
