Project Engineer – Construction Engineering & Inspection

About the role

Royal Engineers and Consultants, LLC is seeking a Project Engineer to lead Construction Engineering & Inspection (CE&I) services for transportation, roadway, bridge, drainage, and public infrastructure projects. The role involves overseeing construction administration, contractor coordination, quality assurance, schedule management, and project delivery for complex public works.

Key responsibilities

• Manage CE&I activities for roadway, bridge, drainage, utility, and infrastructure construction projects.
• Serve as the owner’s representative during construction and lead inspection staff.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, government agencies, utility providers, and stakeholders.
• Review and process RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and contract modifications.
• Monitor contractor performance, schedules, budgets, and compliance.
• Perform and oversee field inspections of roadway, bridge, drainage, paving, structures, and utility work.
• Conduct quantity verification, daily reporting, and project record management.
• Lead quality assurance and quality control efforts and ensure compliance with DOTD standards and safety regulations.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in engineering, project management, construction management, CE&I, or public infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing DOTD, municipal, private, or public‑sector transportation projects.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or Engineer Intern in Louisiana and a valid driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
