About the role
Applied Materials is seeking a Supply Chain Buyer Intern to support its Global Supply Chain team. The intern will assist procurement activities, ensuring timely delivery of materials while meeting cost and quality targets. This position offers hands‑on experience in a leading semiconductor equipment company.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and process supplier request for quotations (RFQs) and manage supplier communications.
- Create, reschedule, and cancel purchase orders (POs) based on material requirements and MRP data.
- Support Supplier Account Managers with meeting preparation, quarterly business reviews, and capacity assessments.
- Analyze part data to assign commodities correctly and perform spend analytics for optimization.
- Resolve invoice and receipt discrepancies and mitigate excess inventory through supplier negotiations.
Required profile
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Good academic standing with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a results‑driven, fast‑paced environment.
Required skills
- Advanced Excel for data analysis.
- Data analytics proficiency.
