About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced and licensed Structural Engineer to join its Miami team. The role involves managing projects from schematic design through construction, ensuring compliance with the Florida Building Code and delivering high‑quality engineering services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare engineering calculations and oversee construction documents.
• Coordinate structural design with architects, engineers, building officials, and contractors.
• Conduct plan examining for new and existing installations to verify compliance with the Florida Building Code.
• Review shop drawings, interpret construction documents, and perform construction administration functions.
• Evaluate alternate methods, materials, and product approvals against code requirements.

Required profile

• Florida Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or certified Structural Plans Examiner.
• Minimum five years of structural design experience, preferably with a consulting firm.
• Strong knowledge of the Florida Building Code and related standards.
