Staff Pharmacist – San Antonio, TX

About the role

Amazon Pharmacy is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to join its San Antonio team. The role focuses on delivering safe, fast, and compliant medication services while supporting customers through virtual consultations and efficient prescription fulfillment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform clinical data review, prescription verification, and virtual patient consultations in line with state and federal regulations.
• Manage end‑to‑end prescription fulfillment, using automated dispensing systems (Parata Max2) and manual processes.
• Package, label, and prepare prescriptions for shipment, including specialized refrigerated or bulk items.
• Conduct thorough Drug Utilization Reviews (DUR) and maintain accurate documentation in pharmacy systems.
• Monitor and manage pharmacy inventory, ensuring compliance and optimal stock levels.
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and fellow pharmacists to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Support operational excellence initiatives, report quality or safety concerns, and handle daily tasks such as returns, medication rejects, therapeutic substitutions, and canister approvals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of employment.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws and federal/state regulations.
• Ability to work the Friday‑Tuesday schedule (6 am – 2 pm) and meet Critical Pull Times.
• Physical ability to stand, lift up to 49 lb, and perform manual dexterity tasks.
