Staff Data Engineer – Enterprise Data

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Data Engineer to provide technical leadership for our enterprise data and AI platform. In this role you will design and build trusted data products, set architecture standards, and solve complex problems across ingestion, transformation, semantic modeling, governance, and AI‑powered analytics. You will work closely with senior leaders to turn ambiguous business questions into durable, certified data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable ELT pipelines and semantic models using dbt, SQL, and Python on Databricks, delivering certified enterprise‑grade datasets.
• Architect and contribute to a unified React‑based executive analytics portal, moving C‑suite reporting from fragmented dashboards to a centralized, AI‑assisted application.
• Build conversational AI agents over enterprise data by creating metadata frameworks, RAG pipelines, and guardrails for safe, compliant interactions.
• Serve as the primary technical partner to senior leaders in Finance, People, Privacy, and Legal, translating strategic priorities into scalable data products.
• Define and enforce engineering standards across the domain, including infrastructure as code (Terraform), CI/CD, version control, and operational SLAs.

Required profile

• 8+ years of data or software engineering experience with expert‑level SQL and Python skills.
• Deep expertise with dbt and modern cloud data platforms (Databricks preferred), including semantic layer modeling and data governance.
• Hands‑on experience building GenAI, LLM agents, or RAG architectures with strong context‑engineering knowledge.
• Proven ability to deliver production‑grade interactive applications using Streamlit or React and to create visualizations in Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders and mentoring engineers.
