Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies are seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test to lead testing strategy and execution for consumer applications. The role combines hands‑on test automation with technical leadership across vehicle access, mapping, mobile apps, and cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive end‑to‑end test strategy, risk assessment, coverage planning, and release‑readiness criteria for new features and systems.
• Design, implement, and evolve scalable test infrastructure, automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and lab tooling used by the broader test organization.
• Mentor junior engineers, standardize best practices, and remove blockers to improve team effectiveness.
• Own product quality and release confidence for assigned domains, ensuring high‑quality releases on schedule.
• Monitor, analyze, and continuously improve test infrastructure reliability, addressing flakiness and coverage gaps.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of software test engineering experience, including automation, test infrastructure, and CI/CD systems.
• Proven ability to develop test strategies across unit, integration, SIL, HIL, and end‑to‑end layers.
• Experience leading projects or mentoring junior engineers.
