Service Technician - Commercial HVAC

About the role

DWC Mechanical is seeking experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technicians to join a respected mechanical contracting team in Western New York. Technicians work year‑round on a variety of commercial and industrial systems, providing hands‑on service and troubleshooting for a diverse customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, system inspections, and document service work accurately.
• Identify electrical, mechanical, and controls‑related issues and communicate findings to customers and facility personnel.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment while following all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Mentor apprentices and junior technicians as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of HVAC service experience, preferably in commercial settings.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities with knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and controls.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Professional communication skills and a customer‑service mindset.

Required skills

• Experience with rooftop units, make‑up air units, heat pumps, condensers, split systems, and building controls.
• Familiarity with boiler systems, variable frequency drives, VRF, VAV, cooling towers, CRAC units, and chiller systems.
• EPA certification or HVAC trade school/technical training.
• Knowledge of building automation systems and advanced controls.
