Senior Staff Product Owner, Voice Intelligence

About the role

Stryker is looking for a Senior Staff Product Owner, Voice Intelligence, to help shape intelligent caregiver communication experiences within its Smart Care platform. Voice Intelligence is a strategic investment area focused on making clinical communication more natural, intuitive and connected, with a vision that includes intelligent voice workflows, speech recognition, ambient documentation, real-time interpretation, conversational AI and other AI-enabled services. The role is hybrid, based in San Jose.

Key responsibilities

• Own product definition and execution for Voice Intelligence across applications, devices, services and clinical workflows.
• Translate customer needs, clinical workflows and roadmap priorities into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria and executable development plans.
• Partner with Product Management and Engineering on feasibility, scope and prioritization tradeoffs.
• Maintain a working understanding of product architecture, cloud services, integrations, APIs, security and cross-team dependencies.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, quality concerns and delivery impacts early.
• Incorporate Voice of Customer insights, user feedback and market context into feature definition and prioritization.
• Work directly with customers and clinical users through demonstrations, feedback sessions and workflow discussions.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Clinical, Marketing, Project Management and other teams, and communicate product decisions and risks to technical teams, business stakeholders and senior leaders.
• Drive backlog quality, planning discipline and predictable execution, and support product and business analysis.
• Build expertise in emerging voice, AI and healthcare technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
• 6+ years of experience in software product development, product ownership, product management, software development or closely related roles.
• Experience turning customer or business needs into software requirements, epics, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with software engineering teams throughout product development and delivery.

Preferred qualifications

• Understanding of complex technical concepts and the ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with cloud architecture, APIs, integrations, security or distributed systems.
• Experience with voice recognition, speech technologies, conversational interfaces, NLP or voice-enabled experiences.
• Familiarity with AI/ML, including Large Language Models.
• Healthcare, medical device software or regulated environment experience, and knowledge of medical device software practices, regulatory requirements, cybersecurity and data privacy.
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Agile certification or comparable training.

Salary: $153,400 - $255,700 USD per year; travel of 30%.
