Senior Safety Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to join Holder Construction’s safety team on a project in Indianapolis, IN. This full‑time, on‑site position supports project‑level safety coordination and acts as the primary office‑side safety leader across multiple active projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project‑level safety coordination and serve as the primary office‑side safety contact.
• Review and hold subcontractors accountable for safety deliverables, including safety plans, JHAs, and crane plans.
• Lead safety meetings such as kickoffs, safety committee meetings, and worker feedback sessions.
• Coordinate and manage onsite safety training and safety incentive initiatives.
• Conduct accident investigations and support ELTs.
• Track safety metrics, observations, incidents, and lessons learned.
• Review crane plans and support engineered lift planning.
• Support campus‑wide safety events and provide overall office support to field safety professionals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management/EHS or related field, or 3+ years equivalent safety experience.
• Knowledge of construction industry practices, codes, and safety standards.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
