Senior Office Engineer

About the role

Artheon, a trusted engineering and consulting firm, is looking for a Senior Office Engineer to support highway and bridge construction projects. The role blends on‑site inspection, contractor coordination, and detailed reporting within a collaborative, innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and industry codes.
• Serve as the on‑site highway inspector, liaising with contractors and subcontractors on daily field operations.
• Prepare daily reports, correspondence, change orders, payment estimates, and quantity calculations.
• Document work performed with photographs and upload field data to the company server.
• Make judgment calls on construction activities, discuss progress with the project team, and work night shifts or weekends as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (preferred).
• NICET Level III Highway Construction certification.
• ACI, TCC, CCTC, and NJSAT certifications.
• 5+ years of heavy highway/bridge construction inspection experience, preferably on NJDOT/NJTA projects.
• OSHA 10‑hour safety course completion.
• Strong written and verbal communication, time‑management, and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• NICET Level III Highway Construction.
• ACI, TCC, CCTC, NJSAT certifications.
• OSHA 10‑hour safety training.
