Senior Director – Media Strategy & Communications

About the role

LSG is seeking a Senior Director to lead media strategy and communications for a growing portfolio of clients in the Houston‑area office in The Woodlands, TX. The role combines strategic counsel, media relations, and leadership of junior staff to drive impact across corporate reputation, public affairs and brand building initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Drive strategic integration across client workstreams, identifying real‑time opportunities to scale communications tactics, stakeholder engagement and influencer outreach.
• Cultivate and pitch relationships with national and local media, editors, journalists and influencers to secure earned media placements and shape client narratives.
• Serve as senior thought partner and day‑to‑day client contact, providing political insight, campaign performance analysis and proactive counsel.
• Oversee content development including thought‑leadership pieces, interviews, press releases, op‑eds and social media assets.
• Mentor junior staff, contribute to business development proposals and improve LSG’s media service offerings.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of experience in corporate communications, issue advocacy, public affairs or agency settings.
• Demonstrated ability to write and edit high‑quality messaging, press materials, op‑eds, social content and lawmaker letters.
• Understanding of federal and state legislative and political landscapes, especially in energy and technology sectors.
• Proven track record of meeting deadlines, managing multiple projects and delivering measurable results.
