Senior Consultant, People Operations

About the role

Lenhardt Partners is seeking a Senior Consultant, People Operations to deliver high‑quality HR services to a portfolio of startup clients. This remote, client‑facing position works closely with principals and the founder to ensure smooth engagements, impactful deliverables, and strong relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day delivery across assigned client engagements, covering people operations, compliance, HR systems, 401k, PEO management, HR processes, and Total Rewards support.
• Translate client priorities into well‑structured, practical work products that meet founders and people leaders where they are.
• Serve as a reliable point of contact for clients, building trust through follow‑through and clear communication.
• Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities within engagements and proactively surface them to senior leadership.
• Support client retention by consistently delivering quality work and deepening relationships over time.
• Contribute to Lenhardt Partners’ internal knowledge base by refining templates, tools, and processes.

Required profile

• Eight or more years of experience in HR, People Operations, or a related role.
• Direct experience supporting startups or high‑growth companies as an operator.
• Hands‑on expertise across people operations, leave of absence, compliance, 401k, compensation, and benefits.
• Comfort navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities with a calm, solutions‑oriented approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, producing executive‑ready work products.

Required skills

• Implementation expertise in HR systems and PEO platforms such as Rippling, JustWorks, ADP, and Deel.
• Experience managing 401k administration and compliance processes.
• Proficiency in designing and administering Total Rewards frameworks, compensation, and benefits programs.
• Technical knowledge of leave of absence management and HR operations workflows.
