About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Business Office of a well‑established college‑preparatory private school in Davie, Florida. The role supports the school’s mission by ensuring accurate, transparent, and timely financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and post journal entries, perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Assist with month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing processes.
• Prepare, review, and distribute monthly financial reports and statements.
• Analyze account activity, investigate discrepancies, and resolve variances.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.
• Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, and other balance‑sheet accounts.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities.

Required profile

• Experienced accounting professional with a strong background in general ledger management.
• Detail‑oriented and capable of working independently while collaborating with finance, administration, and school leadership.
