Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Business Office of a well‑established, mission‑driven private school in Davie, Florida. The role supports the school’s financial health by ensuring accurate, organized, and transparent accounting operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, posting journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations and assist with prepaid, fixed‑asset, accrual, and other balance‑sheet schedules.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, preparing and reviewing financial statements and reports.
• Analyze account activity, investigate discrepancies, and provide variance explanations to school leadership.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budgeting activities as needed.

Required profile

• Experienced accounting professional with a hands‑on approach and strong ownership of tasks.
• Detail‑oriented individual capable of working collaboratively with finance, administration, and school leadership.
• Commitment to the mission of a college‑preparatory educational institution.

Required skills

• General ledger accounting and journal entry processing.
