Safety Hazmat Technician – $75k-$85k, 2nd/3rd Shift

About the role

R+L Carriers has an immediate opening for a Safety Hazmat Technician in its Antioch, TN service‑center office. Reporting to the Director of Safety, the technician handles emergency response, hazardous and non‑hazardous material clean‑up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and related duties.

Key responsibilities

• Perform emergency response and hazardous‑material clean‑up, site remediation, and equipment decontamination.
• Lead safety in all aspects of emergency response, including proper containerizing of waste, completing safety documentation and adhering to R+L procedures.
• Audit incoming and outgoing hazardous‑material shipments for regulatory compliance.
• Set up and participate in live training events to ensure personnel competency.
• Coach co‑workers on unsafe behaviors and take part in specialized projects as required.

Required profile

• 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
• Physically fit, able to lift 75 lb and thrive in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to report issues promptly.
• Ability to work confidentially and handle multiple detail‑oriented tasks.
