Registered Respiratory Therapist – Weekend Night Shift

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join its weekend night team at the Cedar Crest campus. This full‑time onsite position offers the chance to work in a nationally recognized health system with a strong focus on patient safety and clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Administer all forms of respiratory care, including critical and general therapy, for a designated patient group.
• Perform mechanical ventilator management, Bi‑PAP, and continuous respiratory monitoring.
• Conduct emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation, manage airways, and measure ventilator parameters for critically ill patients.
• Carry out arterial blood gas studies, pulse oximetry, and interpret results.
• Educate patients on sleep apnea therapy, CPAP/Bi‑PAP mask fitting, and nocturnal sleep studies.
• Maintain inventory of respiratory equipment and ensure adequate stock.
• Train physicians, students, and other staff on respiratory therapy procedures.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree from an accredited RRT program.
• RRT certification (NBRC) and Pennsylvania state licensure within 1 year of hire.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, and RCP certifications as required by state timelines.
• Ability to lift and carry 40–50 lb, stand/walk for long periods, and perform patient transfers.
