Registered Nurse – Perinatal Unit (St. Mary)

About the role

This position leads patient care on the Perinatal Unit at St. Mary, applying the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality outcomes and cultural sensitivity.

Key responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process to deliver safe, patient‑centered care in the perinatal unit.
• Assess patient, family and group learning needs and provide tailored education.
• Communicate, delegate and coordinate nursing team resources, acting as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
• Use data and evidence‑based practice to evaluate outcomes and drive quality improvement.
• Promote patient satisfaction and staff morale through professional behavior and cultural sensitivity.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and accreditation standards and report any concerns.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current state RN license and active Basic Life Support certification.
• No prior work experience required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to use computers, software and web‑based applications effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction with patients and team members.
