People Research Scientist – Recruiting

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a Recruiting Research Scientist to join its People Data Solutions team. In this role you will apply rigorous scientific methods to improve recruiting funnels, interview effectiveness, candidate experience, and overall hiring capacity. You will work at the intersection of organizational science, behavioral research, and people strategy to drive evidence‑based decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute systematic research studies on recruiting funnel health, assessment quality, candidate experience, and quality of hire.
• Generate and test hypotheses about sourcing strategies, interview design, and selection decisions using experimental and quasi‑experimental methods.
• Conduct mixed‑method research to identify drivers and blockers in recruiting operations while ensuring ethical handling of candidate data.
• Design validation studies for interview and selection tools, applying psychometric techniques to improve interviewer calibration and rating consistency.
• Develop the metrics framework for recruiting health, defining canonical KPIs, dimensions, and definitions for leadership.
• Establish governance processes to maintain metric consistency across tools and reporting surfaces.
• Architect analytical solutions that translate research insights into actionable products for scenario planning and strategic decision‑making.
• Create compelling visualizations and dashboards, and present findings with clear, actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
