Part-Time Parks Program Worker – Thomasville, GA

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a part‑time Parks Program Worker to deliver structured recreation and leisure activities for youth at the Loftiss RYDC facility in Thomasville. This hourly‑paid position supports the development of decision‑making, physical fitness, and social skills among at‑risk youths.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a program of structured recreation and leisure activities for youths in the assigned facility.
• Document all programmatic activities and maintain accurate records.
• Conduct recreational activities aimed at teaching decision‑making, improving physical fitness, offering leisure options, and fostering social skills.
• Perform quarterly inventory of materials needed for recreational/leisure activities.
• Plan and coordinate a monthly recreational and leisure calendar for the facility population.
• Develop schedules for holiday and school‑break periods after coordinating with other facility departments.

Required profile

• Associate degree or completion of a vocational/technical school program in a related field, OR one (1) year of relevant experience.
