Federal Work Study – Science Lab Assistant

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking motivated students to join its Technical College labs as Federal Work‑Study Science Lab Assistants. Working directly with the Natural Sciences department, you will support instructors and fellow students in a hands‑on laboratory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the lab instructor with student guidance on handouts, models and microscope usage.
• Prepare and photocopy lab materials, maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Manage and maintain program‑specific equipment and supplies.
• Provide tutoring support when needed and perform any additional duties assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED and enrollment in an Allied Health Sciences program at the Technical College.
• Demonstrated financial need and satisfactory academic progress for Federal Student Aid.
• Successful completion of Anatomy & Physiology I lab with a grade of B or higher within the past year.
• Professional attitude, punctuality and ability to work collaboratively.

Required skills

• Microscope operation.
• Basic computer and software usage.
