Part-Time Adult Education ABE Instructor (Mon/Tue/Thu)

About the role

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking a part‑time Adult Education ABE Instructor to teach at the Gordon County Campus. The role involves delivering classroom instruction in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies to adult learners, primarily on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 pm to 7 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with College and Career Readiness standards.
• Provide learner guidance and evaluate student progress toward academic goals.
• Promote the adult education program to community organizations.
• Maintain registration documentation, administrative reports and a secure classroom environment.
• Recruit, supervise and direct classroom volunteers where applicable.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
• Participate in staff development and team conferences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Prior teaching and classroom‑management experience in an educational or training setting.
• Ability to adapt instructional material to diverse learning styles.
• Knowledge of effective instructional methods for adult learners and community needs.

Required skills

• Computer usage.
• Proficiency with job‑related software.
