Outpatient Clinical Dietitian – Nutritional Services

About the role

The Outpatient Clinical Dietitian provides comprehensive nutritional care for patients in the St. Mary facility. This role involves assessing nutritional needs, developing individualized care plans, delivering education, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients’ nutritional status and create tailored nutrition care plans.
• Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and families.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record.
• Support departmental goals and participate in community education, marketing, and public‑relations activities.
• Attend assigned committee meetings and stay current with federal, state, and local nutrition regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
• Registered Dietitian status with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and provisional LBEDN license; must obtain full licensure within 12 months of hire.
• Preferably 1 year of clinical experience with knowledge of therapeutic nutrition and modified diets.
• Ability to travel between facilities and meet the physical demands of a patient‑care environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer data entry and Windows‑style applications.
• Ability to use nutrition‑specific software packages for assessment and documentation.
