Nurse Residency – New Graduate RN

About the role

The Nurse Residency program at Mayo Clinic Rochester offers newly licensed Registered Nurses a structured, one‑year experience to develop clinical competence across multiple specialties. As a resident RN you will join a collaborative, high‑acuity environment focused on evidence‑based care and patient‑centered education.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care and patient/family education.
• Rotate through accredited practice areas such as Medical‑Surgical, Oncology, Critical Care, NICU, Pediatrics, OR, PACU, and Ambulatory services.
• Participate in residency curriculum, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with an RN Nursing Placement Coordinator to align career goals with appropriate clinical units.
• Maintain compliance with the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Practice Transition Program standards.

Required profile

• Newly graduated Registered Nurse with a current, unrestricted RN license.
• Willingness to work in a variety of inpatient, ambulatory, and procedural settings.
• Commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
• Ability to discuss career aspirations and adapt to assigned practice areas.
