Physician – Primary Care for University Students

About the role

The Physician will deliver comprehensive primary‑care services to Washington State University students within the Cougar Health Services campus clinic. The role blends clinical care, health education, and collaborative teamwork to support the physical and mental wellbeing of a diverse student population.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary‑care consultations, diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions.
• Manage sports‑related injuries, trauma, infectious diseases, and sexually transmitted infections.
• Perform minor surgical procedures and treat common dermatologic conditions.
• Conduct mental‑health assessments and coordinate counseling referrals.
• Offer reproductive and sexual health counseling, prescribe and place contraceptive devices.
• Educate patients on preventive health, family planning, and lifestyle choices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, maintain accurate electronic medical records, and participate in non‑clinical university initiatives.

Required profile

• Board‑certified physician (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related specialty) licensed in Washington.
• Experience in primary‑care or college‑health settings preferred.
• Commitment to inclusive, student‑centered care for diverse populations.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
