Nurse Informaticist

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Nurse Informaticist to join its Clinical Staff – Nursing team. In this role you will bridge clinical practice and health information technology, supporting the delivery of high‑quality patient care through effective use of data and informatics tools.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with clinicians, IT staff, and administrators to design, implement, and optimize electronic health record (EHR) workflows.
• Analyze clinical data to identify opportunities for quality improvement and patient safety enhancements.
• Provide training and support to nursing staff on health‑IT systems and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies related to health information.
• Participate in interdisciplinary projects that integrate informatics solutions into patient care processes.

Required profile

• Current RN license and active registration in Arkansas.
• Experience working in a clinical setting, preferably in an acute‑care environment.
• Strong understanding of nursing practice and healthcare delivery.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in health informatics, data analysis, or clinical decision support.
