Manager III, Field Service / Customer Engineer – Etch

About the role

Applied Materials is the global leader in materials science and engineering solutions that enable semiconductor and advanced display manufacturing. The Manager III, Field Service / Customer Engineer – Etch leads a district of customer engineers, builds strong client relationships, and ensures successful installation and support of Etch equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with customers across the district, conducting regular visits and acting as the primary interface with product divisions.
• Manage, coach, and direct all customer engineers, handling salary and career planning, performance appraisals, and corrective actions.
• Oversee account planning with District Sales Engineer, financial forecasting, cost efficiency, and system installation activities.
• Execute escalation procedures, monitor the CSD Award and mentor programs, and manage RMA processes.
• Provide accurate tracking of Customer Engineer hours and ensure compliance with company standards.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership ability to guide a team of engineers and enforce company policies.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the judgment to act within defined procedures.
• Effective interpersonal skills to gain cooperation and present technical information.
• Understanding of Applied Materials’ global Standards of Business Conduct and ethical expectations.
