Maintenance Technician

About the role

Residence Inn by Marriott West Orange is hiring a Maintenance Technician in West Orange, NJ. The role covers preventative and repair maintenance so the hotel stays up to quality and sustainability standards, while treating guests warmly and focusing on guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders for replacing and repairing ceiling tiles, drywall and wallpaper.
• Install or repair drywall and other wall coverings, paint designated areas, and replace basic electrical fixtures, switches, receptacles and light bulbs.
• Perform minor plumbing functions.
• Maintain curb appeal, including snow removal, lawn care, gardening and trash removal.
• Follow Service Recovery Guidelines and sustainability practices under the HHM EarthView program.
• Follow safe work habits, wear protective equipment and comply with MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Perform other duties requested by management.

Required profile

• High school diploma; trade school coursework in a related field preferred.
• Previous maintenance experience or equivalent training required.
