Maintenance Technician - Crest at Brier Creek

About the role

Crest at Brier Creek, a stabilized 291-unit garden-style apartment community in Raleigh, NC, is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician. The role covers technical and mechanical work that keeps the buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas clean, safe and functional, with a Monday-to-Friday schedule plus a rotating on-call duty.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from residents and preventative maintenance by diagnosing problems and repairing them according to policy, safety standards and code requirements.
• Run the make-ready process for vacant units: pre-move-out inspection, punch list, vendor and contractor scheduling, supplies and final inspection.
• Track inventory, return unused items and notify the maintenance supervisor of re-order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and on time.
• Help maintain grounds and amenities: pick up trash, pressure-wash breezeways and pool areas, clean and paint curbs and signage.
• Support cost control by fixing rather than replacing parts and using materials efficiently.
• Attend safety meetings, complete OSHA and other safety training, report incidents and occasionally check contractor work.
• Assist with property inspections and communicate physical needs to management.

Required profile

• EPA certification Type I and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling (for Certified Service Technicians).
• All certifications required by state and local jurisdictions.
• Valid driver's license to operate a golf cart on property where applicable.
• Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather, lift up to 25 pounds alone and 50 pounds with help, and work a flexible schedule including call-outs on evenings, weekends and holidays.

• Hourly pay of $22.00 - $24.00, with possible weekly, monthly or quarterly bonuses for onsite property positions.
