Machinist IV – 2nd Shift (Onsite, Buffalo, NY)

About the role

Moog is seeking an experienced Machinist IV for the 2nd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. The role involves producing high‑precision aerospace and defense components that directly support space, launch vehicle, and missile programs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform precision CNC machining and programming on CAM systems to create, repair, or modify complex parts, fixtures, tooling, and sub‑assemblies.
• Maintain extremely tight tolerances ranging from .0001 to .0002 inches.
• Inspect finished work and ensure quality compliance for all manufactured components.
• Collaborate with design draftsmen and manufacturing engineers to resolve technical issues, select appropriate fixturing, tooling, and inspection methods.
• Make technical decisions when standard instructions are unavailable, including handling unusual conditions or defective materials.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum six years of diversified machining experience.
• Ability to read and follow verbal, written, and computer work instructions in English.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Required skills

• CNC machining and programming.
• CAD/CAM experience (preferred).
• Knowledge of G‑ and M‑codes.
• Precision machining with tight tolerance control.
• Inspection and quality assurance techniques.
