Head of Field Engineering

About the role

As Head of Field Engineering you will build and lead the Forward Deployed Engineering team, taking it from three engineers today to ten by year‑end and expanding into a multi‑region organization. You will partner directly with the CEO, CPO and GTM leadership to define the technical playbook that moves customers from pilots to enterprise‑wide deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and onboard the next seven Forward Deployed Engineers and continue hiring through the following year.
• Establish onboarding programs, define ramp processes for product demos, pilot execution and customer engagement.
• Codify operational standards to move customers from initial interest to thousand‑plus seat deployments with predictable outcomes.
• Develop the technical playbook for enterprise integrations, configurations and scaling.
• Partner with Go‑to‑Market, Product and Engineering leadership on team design, compensation, territory model and customer health.
• Scale the function programmatically, hiring regional leaders in year two and creating a repeatable execution layer.

Required profile

• Ten or more years of relevant experience, including senior individual contributor and leadership roles in technical, customer‑facing organizations.
• Degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field from a strong undergraduate program.
• Direct experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or comparable technical customer‑facing role.
• Early‑stage startup experience building a function or team from the ground up.
• Experience at a top‑tier technology company with world‑class execution at scale.
• Proven people leadership with a track record of hiring, managing and developing high‑performing technical teams.
• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments and deliver defined outcomes.
