Food Service Coordinator – In School

About the role

Red Rabbit is seeking a detail‑oriented Food Service Coordinator to manage daily meal service in school cafeterias. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will act as the operational bridge between the kitchen team and school partners, ensuring meals are served accurately, safely, and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily meal service, portioning, staging, and presentation to meet NSLP requirements and visual standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized service line and monitor food temperatures, sanitation, and overall kitchen organization.
• Maintain accurate meal counts, operational records, and documentation; escalate discrepancies promptly.
• Serve as the liaison between kitchen staff and school partners, communicating updates and addressing operational concerns.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience in an operational or administrative role supporting cross‑functional teams.
• Strong organizational, administrative, and customer‑service skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Passion for improving nutrition in schools and a commitment to social justice and equality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace.
