Firewall Engineer / Manager – Cyber SDC

About the role

As a Firewall Operations Solution Architect / Network Sensing Analyst at EY, you will design, deploy and manage firewall and network‑sensing solutions to protect client environments from cyber threats. You will work within a global cybersecurity team, providing operational coverage, handling change requests and supporting incident resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and optimise firewall solutions to establish effective security controls.
• Monitor network traffic and security events to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct thorough analysis of security incidents, including root‑cause analysis and remediation.
• Collaborate with incident‑response teams to investigate and respond to security incidents promptly.
• Develop and maintain firewall policies, rules, and documentation aligned with best practices and compliance requirements.
• Support security audits and assessments, ensuring adherence to standards and policies.
• Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.
• Assist in creating security‑awareness training for staff regarding firewall operations.
• Mentor junior analysts and guide them on firewall management and incident‑response processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity or a related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in network security operations with a focus on firewall management.
• Hands‑on experience with firewall products.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems for incident management.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, vendor‑specific) are a plus.
