Financial Reporting & Corporate Accounting Manager

About the role

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies are seeking an experienced financial reporting and technical accounting professional to join their expanding finance team in Palo Alto. The manager will oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide technical accounting guidance across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Drive preparation and review of consolidated financial statements, footnotes, and supporting memos.
• Ensure all reporting complies with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and SOX requirements.
• Lead the creation of audit schedules and manage annual disclosure checklists.
• Maintain the reporting calendar to meet internal and external deadlines.
• Maintain and optimize financial reporting structures within SAP.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures for consistency and transparency.
• Provide technical accounting advice to cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Research and document accounting positions for transactions such as stock‑based compensation, debt/equity, and joint‑venture ownership.
• Support corporate accounting functions, including journal entry preparation.

Required profile

• Strong interest and experience in technical accounting and public‑company reporting.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
• Agile mindset with the capacity to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Collaborative approach, comfortable working closely with finance and other teams.
• Willingness to work three days per week onsite in Palo Alto.
