Finance Operations Lead (Remote)

About the role

Higher Options is seeking a highly analytical and detail‑driven Finance Operations Lead to support the financial and accounting operations of a growing U.S.-based group of hospitality and events brands. This remote position requires deep expertise in QuickBooks Online and the ability to translate transaction data into clear financial insight.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks Online.
• Review, classify, and post transactions with a strong understanding of their impact on the income statement and balance sheet.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements across multiple entities.
• Analyze month‑over‑month results, flag unusual fluctuations, and ensure consistent reporting.
• Reconcile bank, balance‑sheet, intercompany, and other key accounts.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll review across entities.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting needs.
• Support tax compliance, audit readiness, and coordination with external advisors.
• Improve accounting workflows, documentation, and SOPs.
• Partner with founders and leadership to provide clear financial insight.

Required profile

• Strong, hands‑on experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Excellent understanding of financial statements and the relationship between P&L, balance sheet, and underlying transactions.
• Ability to explain and apply the logic behind transaction classification.
• Strong analytical skills to compare financials month‑to‑month and identify discrepancies.
• Experience with multi‑entity accounting and reconciliations.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced remote environment.
• Clear written and verbal English communication.
