Restaurant Accountant with QuickBooks Online Expertise

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a detail‑oriented accountant to support restaurant clients using QuickBooks Online. You will work remotely with a collaborative team, delivering accurate financial reporting and day‑to‑day bookkeeping for hospitality businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and categorize expenses daily in QuickBooks Online.
• Reconcile daily POS sales reports with cash deposits, credit‑card payouts, and delivery‑app transactions.
• Process vendor invoices, track food & beverage and labor costs, and ensure timely payments.
• Monitor key restaurant metrics such as COGS and labor percentages.
• Perform monthly bank and credit‑card reconciliations and generate basic profit & loss statements for owners.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in the restaurant/hospitality sector.
• Strong familiarity with QuickBooks Online.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Availability during 9 AM–5 PM EST, Monday to Friday.

Required skills

• QuickBooks Online (QBO) proficiency.
• Experience integrating QBO with restaurant POS systems such as Toast, Clover, or Square.
