Field Service Engineer – Albany & Cooperstown, NY

About the role

Provide exceptional customer service by installing, troubleshooting, servicing and maintaining diagnostic imaging equipment at customer sites in the Albany and Cooperstown, NY area. The role involves building strong relationships, understanding the customer’s business environment and generating service revenue while adhering to Philips’ quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site service, installations, preventative maintenance and repairs for X‑ray, cardiovascular, cath‑lab and image‑guided therapy equipment.
• Complete all required documentation, including service work orders, expense reports, Field Change Orders and installation records within regulatory timeframes.
• Utilize Philips tools, support resources and escalation processes to diagnose and resolve electronic, mechanical and network issues.
• Participate in regional team activities, identify training gaps and pursue qualification on multiple modalities.
• Travel up to 70% of the time, with average daily driving of 1‑4 hours and occasional overnight stays.

Required profile

• 1+ year of experience in diagnostic imaging service or 3+ years in electromechanical field service.
• Associate degree in electronics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends and on‑call rotations.
• Capability to safely work with radiation sources and wear required personal protective equipment.

Required skills

• Diagnostic imaging equipment (X‑ray, cardiovascular, cath‑lab, image‑guided therapy).
• Electronic, mechanical and networking troubleshooting.
• Use of specialized test and service tools.
