Specialty Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) – Albany, NY

About the role

We are seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) to join our growing specialty pharmacy team in Albany, NY. The role provides hands‑on support to patients and pharmacists, focusing on medication adherence, insurance resolution, and exceptional patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret, enter, and verify prescription orders accurately.
• Label, fill, and assemble medication supplies for pharmacist verification and patient delivery.
• Perform pharmaceutical calculations and identify special handling requirements.
• Conduct inbound patient inquiries and outbound adherence check‑in calls.
• Obtain refill prescriptions, coordinate renewals, and resolve insurance issues.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory, order medications, and manage claim adjudication.
• Provide patient education and medication support via phone.
• Utilize database applications to keep accurate records and recommend process improvements.

Required profile

• Active Pharmacy Technician registration in the state (preferred) and current CPhT certification.
• At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience (5 years preferred).
• Organized, detail‑oriented, high integrity, and patient‑centered attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Experience with pharmacy computer systems and database applications.
• Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations.
